“Under the orphanage programme, Billion Hearts Beating Foundation organized a health awareness workshop on “Feminine Hygiene & Sanitation” for the children of Samarpan (Home for Girls) in Maharani Bagh, Delhi on 31st August 2018. Creating a culture that welcomes discussion and makes adequate education for girls is of equal importance.
The workshop educated the children about the direct links between personal hygiene and good health. It is an approach to promoting personal hygiene among children. And also improving hygiene behaviors, reduce diarrhoeal disease and encourage effective community management of water and sanitation services. BHB tried raising awareness of the importance of good menstrual hygiene management worldwide. In the workshop, children learned about the types of hygiene & ways to ensure the proper practice. After the session, a small quiz was held for the children where small gift packs were awarded to the ones who gave the correct answers.”
