World Heart Day was founded in 2000 by World Heart federation, to inform people around the globe that heart disease and stroke are the worlds leading causes of death, claiming 17.3 million lives each year. To top it all, India is the Heart disease capital of the World, with CVDs accounting for about 25% deaths every year.

World Heart Day is celebrated every year on 29 September, to create awareness on Heart disease, its risks factors, and how it can be prevented through simple changes in daily life. It is a call to all people to take care of their heart and thereby prevent the onset of Heart disease.

On and around the occasion of World Heart Day, Billion Hearts Beating Foundation organizes various health activities to inform people and raise awareness about cardiovascular diseases. BHB conducts heart screening camps, organizes healthy heart talks, awareness drives, distributes information booklets and education material at various locations to the underprivileged community and take a Pledge for a Healthy Heart.

This section includes the activities, initiatives and campaigns run by Billion Hearts Beating Foundation on World Heart Day.
